Job Title: Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Officer
Responsible to: The Club Committee
Skills Required: Approachable with friendly manner, Good listener, Organisational, Prepared to pass on concerns to professional agencies when necessary
MAIN DUTIES - JOINT RESPONSIBILITY:
- Ensure that the child protection procedures are understood and adhered to by all members.
- Understand the recording and reporting procedures for concerns and disclosures.
- Attend 'In Safe Hands Child Protection Officer' training, and facilitate club coach attendance at scUK workshop 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' (renewable every three years).
- Be familiar with current child protection legislation.
- Understand the NGB child protection procedures, rules and regulations.
- In the event of a complaint being made ensure that the complaints procedures are met and see the procedures through to the final decision.
- Update the club committee on any child protection issues.
