JOB DESCRIPTION TEMPLATE – CHILD AND VULNERABLE ADULT PROTECTION OFFICER of DUNBARTONSHIRE DISABILITY SPORTS CLUB

Job Title: Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Officer
Responsible to: The Club Committee
Skills Required: Approachable with friendly manner, Good listener, Organisational, Prepared to pass on concerns to professional agencies when necessary

MAIN DUTIES - JOINT RESPONSIBILITY:

  1. Ensure that the child protection procedures are understood and adhered to by all members.
  2. Understand the recording and reporting procedures for concerns and disclosures.
  3. Attend 'In Safe Hands Child Protection Officer' training, and facilitate club coach attendance at scUK workshop 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' (renewable every three years).
  4. Be familiar with current child protection legislation.
  5. Understand the NGB child protection procedures, rules and regulations.
  6. In the event of a complaint being made ensure that the complaints procedures are met and see the procedures through to the final decision.
  7. Update the club committee on any child protection issues.
