Volunteering

Volunteers are the life blood of Dunbartonshire Disability Sports Club. DDSC requires volunteers in numerous positions including coaches; committee members; officials; and administrators. The club however, encourages people from all aspects of the community to come along and volunteer. In doing so, DDSC will support and train these volunteers so they feel comfortable with their eventual roles within the club. The club has strong links with West Dunbartonshire Sports Development, which means all volunteer training received is comprehensive and practical.

So you do not need any sport background to get involved in the club. DDSC aims to use sport as a means to develop the local community, and in this way, provide support for those with disabilities and their families. Any volunteer is therefore welcome, as the club know every person has unique skills they can offer.

There are numerous benefits also to volunteering with the club. These include:

  • knowing you are helping others
  • learning new skills for life, or future employment
  • making new friends and being part of a unique community club
  • developing confidence and leadership skills
  • having FUN!

So if you would like to get involved, please fill out the 'Register Your Interest' section! Once it is received, someone from the club will then contact you. Also, feel free to drop into one of the club's sessions. DDSC members are always happy to tell people about the great work that it going on!  To find out more about the duties and qualities required to volunteer take a look at the Club Helper page.
